Taking Pride in What We Do
At Whitemeadow they have a simple approach that involves utilising the best available technology alongside passionate individuals to create truly inspiring British made upholstery.
They're proud of this and continue to raise the bar in all aspects of upholstery manufacturing, with a continued focus on providing premium quality, British made upholstery and an unrivalled service to their customer base.
Everchanging Products
Fabric is key and they recognise that it is so important to the consumer in their decision making. For that reason they have a department dedicated to working closely with some of the finest mills around the world – Giving you a choice from textured flatweaves through to opulent velvets.
They have a great understanding of working with different materials – from trustworthy foam to soft fibre or luxury feathers we look to harness shape and comfort to give you the end product best suited to your consumer.
Knowing that the finer detail is the finishing touch to any product design, whether it be a particular style of stitching, buttoning, piping or feet – they’ve got it covered.
As an own branded supplier they are of a size significant enough to buy at great prices from their suppliers… All aimed at providing great value to their loyal customer base.
Our Fabrics
Fabric is the heartbeat of great design which is why they have a dedicated team devoted to getting it right. Through initial market research, design and sampling right through to colour development and performance testing they recognise the importance of great fabric.
Texture and colour are often the difference attributed to the success of some projects and with that in mind they leave no stone unturned.
Our History
The Whitemeadow story began in the early 1990’s from a site they still manufacture from in Nottinghamshire and whilst their footprint has grown considerably they are particularly proud that all of their products remain hand crafted in their workshops at a great central location at junction 28 of the M1. They currently employ over 650 staff over 4 sites all within a 2 mile radius which total over 350,000 ft2 of manufacturing space.
As a privately owned British upholstery manufacturer, entrepreneurial spirit has been at the core of their success.
This independence gives them the freedom to react quickly and offer the flexibility so essential in the non-branded sector of the market.
So much so that they have grown to become one of Britain's leading upholstery manufacturers supplying the majority of Britain’s Blue Chip High Street names and Premium Independent Retailers.
When it comes to upholstery they really know what they're talking about and enjoy working closely with their retail customers to ensure their collections meet current demand in terms of quality, style, comfort, colour and texture.
This requires them to keep at the forefront of innovation and maintain a constant eye on how the emerging fashion trends influence furniture design - all essential in ensuring they give their retail customers designs that suit their changing lifestyles.
Exacting Standards
All aspects of upholstery production need to meet the stringent criteria set out for the industry and required by their clients. Whether these are of ethical nature, a legal necessity or simply good practice due diligence, this is an area of their business they take seriously.
